I have a Flame Tetra and Platy. My Flame Tetra has a big belly so I don't know if she is pregnant.

Some fish can hybridize if they are close enough to being the same species. For example, platies and swordtails can interbreed because they're closely related. Other species, like certain types of cichlids can also interbreed. However, a Flame Tetra (egg layer) and a Platy (livebearer) would not be able to interbreed at all due to the fact that their mating methods are so radically different. If your tetra has a big belly, it might be that she's eating too much or that she's sick. I don't know much about fish illnesses because ours are usually really healthy.
