I had a geocities free site, it is now gone, what is the easiest way to find it (search turns up nothing) and with all the new restrictions,(the format of the site name is different) what is a better free homepage to use that is more likely not to dissapear? I don't want to use the one related to my isp. Before that I had an msn communities instead, but they did away with that too... I'd really like to get access to the old geocities site I had and see if I can revive it, but so far I get no good answer with that area; only others asking same question and saying they are looking for another place due to page linking problems and tos. thanks

If you had a site many years ago, like 1998, and the account name was something like "mysite", look for it with the name "mysite.geo".

But even if you had not violated the GeoCities Terms of Service, if it is that old, it is likely that it has been deleted as an inactive site.

If you tell us the address you used to use to visit the site, or if you tell us the account name you used to create it, someone could possibly give you much, much more information, even maybe show you how to find the site again.

Well, sounds like they may have deleted your site due to a violation of their Terms of Service. You may be able to find a copy of what you had at http://www.archive.org. However, I would read their terms of service at Geocities and see if your site was compliant with them. All free hosting services will have limitations on what you can do. If you buy a domain name, DigitalDivaDomains (http://www.digitaldivadomains.com) will give you a free 5 gig hosting account, free blog, and a free online website builder (up to 5 pages.)

Try a Yahoo or Google search." free web Posting"

freewebtown.com

www.trap17.com/forums/get-free-domains-by-posting-t44225.html

www.doteasy.com etc

You can enter your website name in Yahoo search,
and the message you get will tell the fate of your website.
eg: error 404 site not found
website removed
etc.
