And why? Of course, you would also take the knowledge of current events as well.
I would like to be involved in the writing of the Constitution to make certain areas nonammendable (of such a word).

The 1950's. America had just come out victors of WWII and the manufacturing plants were using all the knowledge that they had gained from the war production. They were cranking out all kinds of products. There was full employment and there was peace. Mom's were mostly house wife's so they were home when you got home from school.
One could play outside without any thought of being harmed and one could walk at night and not be afraid. We had enough to live on. People were finally making enough money to enjoy life. Up to this point everyone worked just to survive. One could take vacations.
It was the days before interstates were everywhere, so places were still isolated enough so that you cared about your neighbor and you still had family units (grandparents, aunts and uncles) in the same vicinity and could call upon them in a time of need.
Life was simpler then. Kids didn't have all the restrictions they have today such as having to wear protective gear just to ride a bicycle or roller skate and could get a sandlot baseball or football game up without having all the parents involved. You did have time to smell the roses and you could get away from it all.
I couldn't think of a better time to grow up.

I guess the Cowboy days, not sure of a Date. Maybe 1800's when cars and electricity were right at their beginning and a Fascination as something new. I would ride my Horse and Explore the West and be a trusted friend with the Indians and not their enemy. Sleep by the Campfire and Cook. Go into Town and find me a "Wild Filly" when I needed some lovin'. Then jump on my Horse and go. Find me a little Gold out in California and have money burning a hole in my pocket.
But, there many time periods I would enjoy, why? Because the women were women in any time period and there was something new always on the Horizon. :-p

Well I like the one we are in now because we have more advanced technologically. While I don't care for the environmental issues and the war in Iraq I still think this one is better than living from an earlier time. I suppose though if I had to pick a second choice I would pick the 60's. I want to see what that whole free love and peace thing is all about. I would want to go to Woodstock and be a hippy and have alot of psychedelic art to take with me...

I would travel back to the 1800's, the work was hard, but people trusted each other, everyone helped each other, the air was pure, water was clean, trees all around. And PEOPLE didn't put their noses up other peoples AS S ES. Parents punished the kids as needed, and the kids knew HOW TO WORK FOR MONEY. Yep I'd go back today if I could.
