If you have booked an air/ hotel package usually transportation is included. If not, taxi or bus is another option.

Riviera Maya is a short distance from the airport in Cancun. Depending on where your resort is 30 to 60 mins cab ride or van shuttle.

hi, its so easy, in the airport you can find taxis, minivans or offices to rent a car...whatever you want will be good, riviera Maya is located to 5 or 20 min from airport (i don't know where exactly you will go), any place its so near.
I advice you ask to your hotel if they have free or include transportation from airport to hotel, the most of the hotels in riviera Maya have it.
I live in Cancun and I'm sure u wont have any problem, and you can drive here with easy and safe way, don't worry, Cancun and Riviera Maya are places for tourist, have all what they need.

Do you mean directions or mode of transportation? I will give you both just to be safe.
You will need to go South on Highway 307, which is the road to the hotel zone. Follow the signs to Tulum and/or Chetumal....which will take you to the towns of Puerto Morelos, Playa Secreto, Playa del Carmen and Playacar, Paamul, Puerto Aventuras, Xpu-Ha, Akumal, Jade Beach, South Akumal, Aventuras Akumal, Chemuyil, Bahia Soliman, Tankah Tres, and finally Tulum at the southern end of the corridor. These should be in order from North to South......Playa del Carmen being about 45 minutes from the airport and Tulum being about 1 hour. I would definitely make a pitstop in the little town of Puerto Morelos. I love that place. Some good little, cheap restaurants and an old lighthouse that was destroyed in the hurricane. Beautiful little town.
The best way to get from the airport is to make reservations before you get there with Best Day Travel. This can be found on www.cancun.com. They provide van transportation at reasonable rates and will be waiting for you when you arrive. Otherwise.......................................
If you meant mode of transportation......rent a car.....taxi....bus...that is about the options. I have done them all......but if you drive.....DRIVING IN MEXICO IS CRAZY.....keep the following in mind: Beware...Turning
Before making any turn in Mexico ALWAYS look both ways to check for traffic. Beware when turning left from the highway. If there is a special lane provided do as you normally would but look behind making sure traffic is clear before you turn. Someone may try to pass you. At other times, when making a left hand turn from the highway in more obscure locations, ALWAYS check your rear view mirror first! It is customary to pull off the road to your right, put your left blinker or emergency flashers on and wait for traffic to clear. With no one else in either direction make your left turn.
Passing
When traveling on the highway be alert and vigilant for agressive drivers. Let tailgaters pass. Drivers in the on-coming lane may choose to pass and cross the centerline of the highway at unexpected times. Be ready to move right.
Median dividers
At Puerto Morelos and Playa del Carmen there are cement medians that divide the highway. These are marked by reflectors in the road. Please be careful not to hit them.
