If you play an acoustic guitar, you can play an electric guitar. The only difference is that an electric guitar has a soft touch, so it is very loud if you touch it very lightly. On an acoustic you touch it softly and you can hardly hear it. So yes you can play an electric, if you play acoustic.

They are the same instrument. Each just requires a slightly different technique when playing. You can do more things with an electric than you can with an acoustic. Each has their advantages and disadvantages though.

Very much so. In fact, you can do more on an electric. There is a different feel to the electric, but you get used to it in minutes.
