My coworker lost a large account through no fault of his so he threaten to quit if the company didn't provide a future to him. He has made numerous ennemies with his co workers at the company due to his unprofessional handlings of accounts. He is about to have a second child in his family. The all male supervisors have created a position for him. I am much more qualified for this position than he. However the position was not open to anyone to apply for. So I was unaware of this until his promotion was announced. Is there anything I can do?

Yes, find a new job. Since you have posted this question under ethics, make sure prospective employers know why you are looking. There are still some honest enough to hire you.

Yes, start posting your resume online and find another company to work for. They like him, so deal with it, or work someplace else. Welcome to the jungle lol.
