I did something awful and I want to get it off my chest. All I'm doing is laying in bed really depressed. It's nothing that's going to put me in jail or anything but it was preety bad. I don't want to say what it is.

Well, I tell you what just email me (I can almost guarantee I do not know you) and tell be briefly what you did and I will give you my honest opinion. BTW emails on here are private too they don't give addresses etc.
If you don't just remember this, sometimes alleviating your guilt causes others way to much pain and is actually selfish to do.

It depends on if telling the truth is going to hurt someone else and nothing good (except getting it off your chest) is going to be accomplished.
If you need to tell someone, tell a friend, a pastor or priest.
If your only concern is that you'll be thought less of...then I'd do it. You'll feel better. But don't hurt innocent people.

If telling the truth is going to hurt someone and not make anything better, then keep it in and deal with your guilt. If telling the truth will help other people (not just you), then it might be best to fess up.

Yes,it will get the guilt off your chest and it is the best policy.you will survive and feel better in the long run

Depends, will it hurt the other person in the long run?? But, honesty is good for yourself, and sometimes others, It's a call you will have to decide, yourself.
