Ok, so I saw the new weight watchers commercial with Jenny Macarthy where she says she lost three pounds the first week! I was on weight watchers for four months, going by the book, and maybe lost two pounds! How on earth do you get those kind of results in one week?

As a member of weight watchers, I suggest drinking your water, eating your fruits and vegetables, and eat your dairy products.
Write down what you eat. You also need to exercise. If you have any further questions, consult your group leader.

Hmmm...You only lost 2 pounds in 4 months? There's definitely something wrong.

First of all, were you doing Flex or Core? Did you make sure to drink at least 48 oz of water each day?

It seems like a big mistakes lots of people make is that they think they have to starve themselves to see results. Usually the opposite is true. If you're not eating enough your body will cling on to any fat stores you have and you won't lose any weight.

For example, I'm on the Flex plan and I like to vary my points greatly from one day to the next. I might eat 20 points one day (which is my daily points target) and the next I'll have 30, then I'll do lower points the next day. The high-low-high-low trend works to keep your metabolism guessing.

Honestly, I don't know how Jenny McCarthy lost 3 pounds the first week. They say that it's best to lose between 0.5 and 2 pounds each week, which is what I've done on the plan.

Good luck. I hope this helps.

depending upon how much you want to loose, on a true weight watchers program, ... If you have been doing sugar, drinks with sugar, and/or alcohol, it is possible to loose up to 10-15 pounds in the first 2 weeks, then it slows to about 2 pounds a week. There is no mystery, no genius in the program...it is strictly reduced calories, absence of sugar and alcohol (causes body to retain water big time). Any food "diet" that gives you less calories than you burn will result in weight loss, period....no way for anything but loss to occur. With wieght watchers, NO variations are allowed, including eating the amounts that are prescribed...if you eat less, the diet does not work as well. I have found that it is sugar and alcohol that are the worst offenders. But then again, I can go on an all steak diet, eat all the steak I want, and loose weight...it happens more slowly at first, but then gets on a roll. I suspect that it is because I limit my self to ONE food, and with time, get tired of it and eat less and less. Good luck.
A sure fire way to get your body on a roll for loosing wieght is my "raisin bran diet." Eat ONLY raisin bran with 2% milk, take vitamins, all you want of the bran, and within 2 weeks, you will see pounds flying off...but you have to be careful that you keep enough electrolyte balance...outside source of potassium (pill) is sometimes required. On any diet, just be careful and aware of your body at all times...if you feel funny, chances are that something is wrong...have it checked out.

Some people can drop weight easily. I am not one of those. On weight watchers I lost weight but not by pounds, more like ounces at a time. Which is healthier and you are more likely to keep it off the slower you lose it. Remember, the commercial is a commercial-you can't believe everything you see on tv.

i dont really think they work b/c i tried dieting and the only thing that really works is just working out as much as you can. the results are slow but they stay. I mean the only way to loose weight fast is to pick up an eating disorder which i dont suggest because they are like hell getting rid of.

I have no idea but my mother in law and sister in law are on a WW program and my MIL has lost 35 lbs in a year and my SIL (who had a lot of weight to lose) lost 75 lbs in a year. So you may have hit a plateau with your weight loss at that point.

Honest, you had to have been doing something wrong. Fewer calories equals weight loss, unless you're cheating or have a metabolic disorder.
