hey, i have read how to drive manual car, but it never said how to turn it off. I read somewhere you always want to leave it in first gear when you turn off the car, but if you release the clutch when its in ANY gear, it will stall and the car will die. How do you safetly turn off the car? please give each step thanks

Plain and simple: NEVER leave you car in gear when you turn it off. The reason is that when you start it up again, the car will lurch forward and possibly hit something and damage it or break it - not to mention damage to the car itself. (Been there, done that).

To safely turn off a manual car simply
1. Get you car out of gear and into neutral.
2. Pull up the hand brake. (Manuals don't have "Park").
3. Turn ignition key to off.

never release the clutch while the car is in any gear on purpose to turn it off. you should engage the clutch and put the car in first gear, then turn the key off in the ignition and use your emergency brake when you park the car.

VWs have had undesirable electric switches on the ignition change. in case you have extremely some weight extraordinary on the considerable ring that's going to certainly reason this difficulty. Wiggle the considerable interior the ignition mutually as the motor vehicle is working and notice if it cuts out. A vacuum leak provide you a decrease idle and the motor vehicle would die at a provide up. out of your explaination it sounds greater like the motor vehicle purely turns off, no longer that the idle is so low it stalls.

you turn it off just as you would any other car, turn the key off. the only difference is to make sure to leave the car in 1st or reverse to keep the car from rolling. apply the parking brake and you are done. just make sure to keep the clutch pressed in until the car is completely off or it may jump forward.

you simply stop the car...leave the clutch pushed down...then turn off the car...place the transmission in either 1st gear or reverse...set the parking brake and you are set.

Put the car in neutral. Put the parking brake on, shut the motor. When the motor is off completely, put the gear in 1st or reverse.
