my husband and i are trying to have another baby. Does this mean that I am ovulating or getting ready to? This is the first time that I have taken my temp. When do you think that I should start trying to have a baby? I had my period on the 7th and it lasted 5 days.

You have to take your temp every day at the same time when you wake up. It is the comparision of temps that will show you after you have ovulated, not a single temp that will tell if you are ovulating. You can chart your temps at www.fertilityfriend.com After you have ovulated they will tell you what day, but since you started charting later in the month you may have to wait till next month for the chart to actually show you ovulation date. Don't stop taking your temp though, it will be good practice so you can get use to taking your temp before you get up (it is easy to forget before you have gotten use to it). For this month just start having sex either every day or every other day for the next few weeks (you didn't say how long your cycle was so it's harder to tell a range of when you will ovulate.

not necessarily.

your temperature seems pretty normal.

if it was higher than usual, then you might be ovulating.

the normal body temperature is about 98.6 degrees fahrenheit
