I am 35 weeks pregnant with a bicornuate uterus and this afternoon my right lower back and my right leg have a dull ache, does this sound normal. Not any pain just a nagging ache. I just saw the OB on Tuesday and my cervix was "high and tight". Am I just paraniod?

Missy,
I just wanted to tell you to make sure you tell your OB if it becomes more painful! I too have a bicornuate uterus & remember having back pain/leg pain near the end of my pregnancy. Now that I look back on it, I think part of it was the start of labor pains & I didn't recognize it. You said that it isn't really painful, so maybe it is just from the baby pushing more on one side of your back/nerves than the other (it's probably rather crowded in there with little space to move). For me it helped to lay on the opposite side that the baby was on.

Another thing to watch for, is if you start getting "cramps". This happened to me the day before my water broke at 36 weeks, I didn't recognize it as a contraction because I wasn't able to feel my stomach tightening each time. After my water broke, I realized the "cramps" would get stronger every couple of minutes & it must have been contractions. For me, I think it was the bicornuate uterus that made it harder for me to recognize the actual contractions (and harder for the doctors to monitor, too since the baby was positioned way over on my left side). Hope this info. helps. I hope you have a happy, healthy, bundle of joy! Feel free to email me with questions!

As mentioned DEFINITELY sciatic nerve pain. Mine got so bad I had to walk on crutches. If you can, I highly recommend seeing a chiropractor, I wish I had. My current chiro said he could've made my miserable pregnancy a dream!

i think your ok.sometimes when the baby lays back they pinch the nerves in your back and cause cramps and leg aches. try laying down on your side and try to get the baby to reposition itself, that way it will take pressure off the nerve and help you feel better.
