it's gawdy and uncooth.

That's my professional opinion.

Not to tear apart your little world here, but decide what a beautiful life is first before you start professing it to others. Is it natural beauty, like a "sunshine of happiness" or is it a personal beauty, like the "comfort of laziness." It could be both, but then you lose that important little thing called unity, and your poem is talking about two entirely different things, it quite frankly bores me, I don't know if you are overly happy or overly depressed. If it was at least nostalgia I could deal with it, but this is just hallmark all over again. But before you start to cry, listen to me, take every word I say and throw it out the window. You're a beautiful soul if you believe you are, and one day when school children are reading your poems, they'll think about how beautiful life is, and you'll thank every person who ever criticized you with a harsh tongue.

Phrases like 'a high of reward' and 'a comfort of laziness' drive me up the frigging wall. It's pretentious, dissonant, and self-conscious.
