If he has strings or knows someone that can get him a job that brings in the right amount of money, he'll be alright. He can always get his GED and get a decent job. You can get a job working underground as a miner with no experience, making 30 dollars an hour, in different states, with a GED.*

Supporting the family means Financial & Moral.
As far as financial aspect is concerned high school diploma does not make any difference, Generating money can be done by various legal ways and for that you need to have strong WILL and DESIRE. Many successful people had won the battle of life even without SCHOOLING.
As far as Moral aspect is concerned before taking any important decisions, CONSULT with the important ones and this is more than enough.

By working even if its something you do not like just stick to it to the point you know everything about the job. Eventually someone will notice and you will probably move up. I think intelligence cannot be judged by your educational background only. Some of these millionaires did not even finish college and they are rich and succesful. It depends on the individual and their drive but I would recommend to try to get your GED.

I've been doing it for almost thirty years. it's called work. education is fine but, employers want life experience too. I started as a laborer and, have been a manager for almost ten years, now. I attribute it to picking one job and, sticking to it until, I knew everything there was to know about it.

Go to adult education classes for your GED then you can go to college or technical school for training in any field you want to work. These classes can be taken while working-many are scheduled in the evenings for that reason.

work during the day and go to school at night to get your GED. And use condoms so you and your wife won't have anymore kids until you can better afford them.

get a G.E.D., or get involve with some technical schooling or learn a trade?, it may not be easy but it can also made any body wealthy, and Happy.

Are there apprenticeship programs in your area? My brother-in-law has done one and is doing pretty well.
