First, healthy fish are happy fish. If you have the proper size tank (10 gallons of water minimum per fish) and if the ammonia, nitrites and nitrates are all in the proper parameters, you have a neutral ph of 7.0, water temperature of around 70 degrees F., don't overfeed, keep them free of diseases, provide fun things that keep their interest, they will be healthy, and thus, happy. Also, I believe that goldfish, at least, have a certain level of "emotions." When my goldies have lost a tankmate and are all alone, they appear to get very depressed. When they get a new friend, they seem to perk up again. Maybe I'm just seeing what I want to see, but I do think that, on some level, they make attachments. But, regardless, at the very least, a healthy fish is definitely a happy fish. This cannot be disputed. So, take good care of them and they will be happy.

nicely im no longer gonna be advise yet purely the reality your saying it such as you ought to appreciate what you're doing is incorrect extraordinary ? 2 comet goldfish will develop to fourteen inch each and each and could require a a hundred and twenty gallon tank for the the two considered one of them. they are in a position to be saved in a bowl for like 4 months yet then they're going to must be moved to a 20 gallon and then a year after that a fifty 5 etc. additionally goldfish choose a robust clear out and an air pump to grant them with oxygen. they're going to die youthful and could no longer stay very long in that bowl. Plus in that bowl you need to be changing the water each 2 days and using a high quality water conditioner to apply on the water earlier you place the fish lower back in so it may eliminate chlorine cloramine and heavy metals all of that are deadly to fish and could no longer evaporate out of the water via letting it sit down. you besides would must be mentioned that comet goldfish are frequently breed for feeder fish and are not nicely dealt with at puppy shops and are not breed for their wholesome characteristics and stable genes so the prospect they're going to die youthful is severe in any case. even though e book you're examining on care, throw it out. And even though fish save guy you have become suggestion from, provide up talking to and locate yet another save. desire this enables and stable success.

I am 16 and I have 2 fancy oranda goldfish, and i know they're happy because they have a 29 gallon tank to grow up in and they happily sort through the rocks and follow eachother around, they have lots of plants and rocks and driftwood and crystal clear water, and they swim all over the place, so I know they are definitely happy.

Fish do not have emotions, so you have to rely on if they are active, eat regularly, grow (if you have room, which you should), and don't have any sign of illness, like ick (little white or black dots on their fins, etc). Look, you want to make them more content? Give them a bigger space to swim and live in, not some cruel tiny bowl. A nice regular ten gallon tank for a coouple goldfish with some nice live plants would be enough. I mean, they are basically a feeder fish or (sorry) garbage fish (to some, not you or me), so give them the best home possible. they can't love or even comprehend you, but you will have done your best for them, which is the most you can hope for.

They could not be "happy" as humans define happiness whatsoever. They have a memory of 3 seconds so they do not even realize how small the tank is. However it's a good thing to have more than one or even more (if it is big enough) in the tank, and they won't have ANYTHING to worry about, as their instincts will be satisfied. It's not like Finding Nemo at all, although it's a great film.

You can also change the water usually, or get a filter, and feed them occasionaly.

I believe Vibrant Colors are a sign of happiness. If the fish looks pale, they are either sick or unhappy. I wouldn't worry about fish though, as long as you feed them, and keep a nice temperature they will be fine.

Hi -

A goldfish is a fish. Fish don't have emotions. They don't plan anything out, or think about stuff. They just "do".

Just do everything right, as far as feeding them, and giving them fresh water, (never put in cold, or hot water, it could kill them, the water should be distilled, at room temperature). Then you will know they are "enjoying" their stay.

If they are not purposely jumping out of the tank to commit suicide, they must be happy. If there really your buddies, you should spend more time outside, that's sounds a bit strange..

Don't think fish worry too much about that, just feed 'em regularly, hehe.
