Has anyone ever had symptoms of being lactose intolerant only when pregnant? I had bad stomach aches, bloating, gas, etc. only after drinking milk. I haven't had milk in the last two days and haven't had any of those problems. Any ideas??? Thanks!

based on your symptoms I don't think it's lactose intolorance. Having stomache ache, bloating, gas could be pregnancy hormones in your body. I am 12 wks pregnant and I pretty much have the same symptons as you. I don't think I am lactose inolerance, Let me ask you if you don't take dairy product do you have bloating, as well? I just think it's part of being pregnant. If you feel that this is a product you should speak to you obgyn on your next appt.

I know some women that had to give up milk during pregnancy. You can try a lactose-free alternative, like soy or rice milk and see if you see any improvement.

When your baby is born, be sure to check with the doc to see if he/she could be lactose intolerant as well.

Your body reacts differently to various foods while pregnant. Keep taking your prenatal vitamins for your neccesary calcium and tell your doctor what is going on during your regular appt. He might have some suggestions for you. In the meantime, be comfortable and stop drinking milk.

if you are 8 weeks pregnant, go see your doctor, tell him/her the symptoms and if you are correct, there is a medication to help you with dairy products
