You would then be employed for electrical work in swimming pools.

No, it's not true. The sentence is death, it's not meant to be a trial by ordeal.
If you recall the old cliche line from western films and such, the sentence is usually something like "and hanged by the neck until dead".
If the execution doesn't work the first time, you're just scheduled for another appointment with Ol' Sparky.
However, surviving several attempts at execution could definitely be used as grounds for a 'cruel and unusual punishment' lawsuit, and you might be able to get your sentence overturned that way. It's not automatic though.

Yes, I do believe that that is true. I have heard of people surviving the electric chair. My son was the one who told me about that. I don't know how anyone could survive the chair but anything is possible these days.

As one who spent 15 years in prison, a substantial amount of which was spent on the unit where executions took place, I can tell you matter of factly that your friend was mistaken. The sentence is not the electric chair per se; it is death and surviving the chair once only insures the procedure is repeated.

no, if you survive the just up the amperage untill you do not survive. .8 of an amp can kill a human. they start at 277 volts with a 5 amp load, and go up to 480 volts at something like 10 amps.

It is true. They are only aloud to electrocute you so much. If your body can withstand it you get to go free. I has only happened a couple times but it is one of the reasons they started using lethal injection. You can't survive that.

no most of the people didn't die the first time they got shocked so they always had a doctor to see if the criminal was still alive. if he was they always gave them another jolt.
