Gimp>? Settings?

Question

When I want to open a picture to look at it, GIMP is always opening it and it gets annoying i want my regular settings without every single picture i open opening with GIMP

You didn't say what operating system you have, so it's probably Windows. In Explorer, right click on an image file and select properties. You'll see an item that says "Opens with: Gimp". Click the change button next to that and select the program you want to use. Be sure the box that says "always use the selected program to open this type of file" is checked. You'll have to do this for each image file extension.

From the right-click menu you also have the ability to open a file using something other than your default program.

when you set it up it asked if you wanted this to happen, and if you click through without reading this is what happens.

if you are in windows right click a pic and select open with...

choose your program and check open with always.

That was by design.
