Our final for my German I class is a take home kind of project. We could pick from a few different things and I chose a "sports report" and Im doing it on the 41st Super Bowl, XLI. Which is basically just a summary of the game in German.
I have everything covered besides "culture". We have to put "culture" of the Germans into our project somehow; how would I do this? (It doesnt have to be a big thing, it just has to be in the project somewhere)

It is not a really big event for Germans. Most wouldn't know the teams, even fewer will know the rules.
But I looked up some small essay for you, that really describes it well from a german point of view. It is short, has the essantials and if you rephrase it, should garantee a good mark for you.

American Football is not such a huge sport in Germany than in the USA, so how you can bring both of it together in a project work appears a bit difficult. Maybe on general terms that sports, especially team sports ,are very popular in Germany. Due to their love for all types of sport , sports that may not be originating from there can gain increasing popularity due to the interest they create
So Baseball and Amerian Football, although not the most popular types, have gained a lot of popularity with more and more teams developing. Frankfurt Galaxy being the German contribution to the World League of American Football. maybe something along these lines ?

Maybe it would be better if you chose the "normal" football aka. soccer. That is way more popular in Germany and you could probably find a lot of material since World Cup 2006 was hosted by Germany.
