I beleive a Celeron D is way more advanced than a Pentium 2
A Cel-D is a Prescott Core Pentium 4 family CPU,,first released in Mid '04
A pentium 2 is from mid 1997
The fastest /last ones were 450Mhz CPU's in '98
Pentium 3's were introduced in early '99
...........................................
Edit,,
I looked up Minimum Specs for COD2,,,,
It sez a 1.4Ghz P4.
A Celeron D is not world's greatest gaming CPU,,,
But it IS "same core" as a Pentium 4.
The Slowest Celeron D is 2.1 Mhz,,,,,50%faster than COD's minimum of 1.4
RAM,,,they say 256 "will run",,but recommend 512mb
VidCard,,,it IS a Direct X 9 game.
I dont have any idea what model DELL PC you have,,
so it's impossible to know what graphics system is in it.
I would GUESS that by the time Dell was installing Celeron D's,,,any graphics they'd use would be Dx9
Interesting to note that while they claim a minimum of Direct X 9 Grahics Cards,,,,
They LIST compatibility with several older DirectX 8 cards
radeon 8500,9000,,and old GeForce 3's & 4's
You Should be able to play it with any average Celeron D PC,,,
If you don't have at least 512mb Ram,,it's gonna be quirky & sluggish though

You need a video card nvidia or ati compatible. newegg.com has the best deals I've seen, but you can pick up a card at office depot, staples, circuit city, compusa, bestbuy, or any such store. Your processor isn't going to be very fast, adding some RAM might help a little.

you should still be able to play but might be very slow. You can upgrade your motherboard and cpu. Or just buy a new computer hehe.
