In the French & Indian War, scalping was used, which was barbaric.
But, is war more civilized now? (If so, how?)
Or is it still barbaric in other ways? (If so, how?)

It may be more sophisticated now, not more civilised. How can bombing innocent men, women and children as "collateral damage" be anymore civilised than scalping? It is barbaric because if there is a difference of opinion, the more powerful country simply annhilates people in hundreds and thousands, leaving thousands more mained, orphaned and homeless.

wars were once fought on battle fronts
solgers against solgers
now they can /will be fought on the street or in your front garden
war has become more ruthless more destructive of collateral damage [never liked the trueism that civillians are only regarded as collateral that war can damage]
it is more barbaric than ever ,now children are human shields for beasts ,now you can and will be shot in your own bed
now civilians rights stolen at whim ,demeaned at ever turn
war is in the streets at a location where children are supposed to be safe
land mines are planted in thier fields of play
look at the cluster bombs dropped in the last dats of lebinons 30 day war ,act of humanity?
or vile war attrocity?
war is evil pure and simple
for any reason making /proffiteering of weopens of war is morally corrupt
what of the mind that cioncieves and creates and deploys cluster bombs
land mines then call that aid?

Its more barbaric as it is much easier to cause casualties. It is definitely not more civilized as we are quicker to jump into things since it is "safer".

LOL...No it isn't.
No matter what kind of rules we try to make to fight a war. Nobody else is following any rule except "win".
They are still using kid to deliver explosives, churches, schools, and hospitals as military base points, torture...must I go on?

We conduct a precise program while the terrorist and insurgents attack innocent people. Loses are usually because of roadside explosions or suicide bombs. We are not to blame for that.
