I absolutly love this dress at the top, with the embroidered flowers and the sparkles. I'm not so sure about the bottom though, its so huge! I don't want to go and get made fun of or have people think that the dress is absolutly ridiculously huge. I'm a small person and someone said this dress would look like it was swallowing me. I haven't been able to find anything else that I like; I just keep coming back to this dress. Do you think it would be too flat if we took out a layer of poofy stuff underneath? (there's like 3 layers of it under there)

To more easily answer the question, it'd be better to see you in the dress. It looks more like a wedding dress (except for the color, naturally).
It is a beautiful fit on the model in the photo though. I'd have to add that prom dresses are not usually so layered, but hey, it's your choice, and you should go with what you like. Cheers!

This dress is gorgeous. I had a poofy dress I bought for my senior prom, then at the last minute pulled the stuff out. Some dresses need the volume, but this one I bet you could wear it either way. Just make sure you like it, don't worry about everyone else.

If you love the dress and your date likes it... WHo cares... 10 years from now, you will say to yourself: I did what I wanted... and not what other people keep telling me what is best... Take charge and don't care if others think what you like is not "cool". If people want to make fun of another person... then they wil find a way, dress or not. I'll bet you will look gorgeous in that dress. Besides, aren't prom dresses supposed to look "out of ordinary". Don't change a thing. I'm out of high school now and many people in my position wish they had done things more "their" way instead of listened to peers so much.

I THINK THE DRESS IS GREAT HOWEVER TAKING A LITTLE MORE INTO YOUR QUESTION I LOOKED AT SOME OF THE OTHER DRESSES AND IF IT IS BOTTOM OF THE DRESS YOU LIKE TRY OUT THESE OTHER STYLE NUMBERS, THE BEST ONE IS FIRST : 5707 - 5732 - 5743 - 5750 JUST BE COMFORTABLE AND LOVE THE DRESS YOU GET. I AM SURE IF THAT IS THE ONE YOU HAVE TO HAVE YOU WILL KEEP LOOKING AND NONE WILL DO. JUST REMEMBER GIVE IT A LOT OF THOUGHT ESPECIALLY IF THIS IS YOUR SENIOR PROM AND GET WHAT YOU LIKE NO MATTER WHAT EVERYONE ELSE THINKS.

I do think that it's cute...though VERY poofy at the bottom! I think that it should work fine if you take out all the the layers of the stuff that makes it "poof". It will just look like a cute ruffle dress! In case, you decide not to buy it, here are some other dresses to consider:

http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=235928&CategoryID=22177 (this one is not like the one you liked, but I think that it would flatter your small figure)

http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=213036&CategoryID=26681 (another good one -- XOXO makes great dresses!)

Hope those help and good luck!

P.S. Another great place to buy nice dresses is The Bon-Ton.

I think it's really pretty but I can't really say about other people thinking about you bc everyone's prom is different. Where I went to high school no one wore dresses like that but I know people from other areas where everyone wore poofy dresses so I guess it just depends on what people at your school wear...but anyway I think the dress is really gorgeous.

Take some of the poofy stuff out then see what it looks like but remember no matter how pretty the dress if is doesn't look good on you it isn't pretty any longer

i love that dress!!! it is really big but first i would talk to your friends at school and see if anyone else is wearing a big dress like that... then you should go to a tailoring shop and ask a professional if it would work to take out a layer (print out a picture of the dress) and they should be able to tell you if that would work... good luck!

the dress is beautiful! it is not too big, if u are a little person, it will emphasize ur tiny waist even more and look really flattering. its very modern and elegant. a lot of gowns and wedding dresses have the same styling on the bottom.
