i wont tell you a name because i think the first and second name of a child should be taken for the family's history. if you don't wish to name a child after there parent which i don't think is a good idea then go back one generation and name the child after that parent or relative. myself i am named after the first male member of my mothers side to come to Canada . this is a Scottish name i have and it isn't really bill. i feel proud to have a name that i can trace back so far into the past.
i suggest you look into your family's history even if only one generation and name the child after one of them.
if you don't wish to do that then pick a name that you have attempted to rhyme as children do with every possible sort of insult you can think of . we all know kids do this and it can be awfully so please consider that.

There's all kinds of web sites for finding baby names. One to check out is www.whattoexpect.com. My favorite for a girl is Rachael and Travis for a boy. Some people use ethnic names, Biblical names or family names. Congrats on the baby. Best wishes.

Naming your child is a really personal thing. I used baby name books for my son's first name, I had read somewhere that the meaning of a person's name affects their personality, so I chose Maximilian which means "the great one" pretty egotistical, I know, but its a mom thing, he is great by the way. Our family always gives the a maiden name for the middle. What kind of a child do you want? strong, artistic? look up the meanings and pick the one that suits you the best.

Love the names Brian, James, Matthew, Michael, and Alex. For girls, Victoria, Lisa, Jeanne, and Elizabeth. LOL, The one thing I learned over the years, is don't use more than 3 syllables in a name. (2 is optimal) When you want to yell at then, getting out all those syllables is extremely difficult. Let's face it, we all get mad and have to yell at our kids. Any name you pick will be okay as long as you don't #1, make it too cutesy, or #2 too weird or unique (think "Moon Unit Zappa") They have to live with what you give them for the rest of their lives. Don't burden them.

naming a child is all an issue of personal preference! Some things to consider though: make sure it flows with the last name, make sure it can't be shortened to something that would cause the child grief, make sure the initials aren't bad either...
think about family names if you are into that
think about giving the child your initials or daddy's initials
look up names on name sites with specific meanings
think about your favorite song with a name in it
basically just start a list and keep changing it until you are completely satisfied with it.
personally...i wanted uncommon names for my kids and i made them personal...
my daughter's name came from a song title from my favorite band, her middle name is the name of my best friend growing up and is also the female version of my hubby's middle name and her initial are his! Her names (first and middle) mean: clever one of god
my son has my initials...since she had his, we looked for names that would go with mine. his names mean: brave one of the valley

well i gonna tell you ,the way my friends told me. I not gonna suggest a name because later on down the line if you choose this name you are gonna wish you had came up with one on your own. I have a little girl, and i realized what they said was true, but instead of using their names they gave me, i came up with one i liked . Her name is Na'kyla Elizabeth, and i glad i chose it . so choose a name you love and that you wouldn't want to change on down the line.
