Most noises from a computer are from the cooling fans. Usually an imblance or a rough spot on the axle has developed, and the high speed wobbling and scrapign causes the noise. Since you mention problems loading, it could also be coming from your hard drive. Take the side panel off your computer and boot up, see if you can narrow down where the noise comes from. You will probably have to replace the malfunctioning component.

Moving parts in a PC are - The Drives.
CD & DVD drives will make noise when they're spinning up to be accessed, even if they don't have anything in them.
The hard drive(s) will make noises when under high load, say during a virus scan or when opening a large file.
The fans
Fans eventually die, but before death, or simply due to dust build up, they often make grinding noises. There is a processor fan, a power supply unit fan and a case fan in most systems. Any one of these can develop problems. Normally the noise is the same the entire time the pc is running, but sometimes it stops once the fan has got up to speed, or when the airflow around/inside the case changes.

Uncertain what a frankin-puter is or is that your name for a frankinstonian? Fans motors going out can growl a high pitch. Hard drives may growl if ready to quit. Old fixes still good. Try defrag and clean disk just for elimination. Restart PC and see if still has growl. My best guess is hard drive problem. It is best to do defrag and clean disk in safe mode. Or, if you have XP, when PC first boot-up you may get a popup that asks you to press space bar to fix and repair computer. You have to be fast to catch it. If all else fails, take to shop.
Good Luck

My computer itself is making one looong constant Racket. And keeps up until I put it to sleep or shut it down.. I've traced my problem down to my CPU fan. It's still working.. But I'm guessing my problem is the vibration against the towner. Something you might want to check into on your system.

that would probably be the fan...open it up and clean it, it might be dusty, or if its not then you can install more RAM or clean it with the disk cleanup and defragmenter
