A good basic "paint-and go" service should run around $1000. This applies if the vehicle does not require any damage repair, no base coat/clear coat, and no "special" colors.
Once you start looking at rust or damage repair, metallic or "pearl" paints, and multi-stage applications, the price increases exponentially.
Maaco has deals starting from around $500, but, as is typlically the case, you get what you pay for. I'm NOT saying Maaco is bad, just that, with the quality of the paint and the amount of surface preparation you get for $500, I would be surprised to see it last more than a few years.

Expect to pay between $1000-1800 for parts and labor, depending on how far into the engine you want to go, even with a used engine, some parts should be replaced with new, like seals and gaskets, hoses, etc. Cheap is a relative question. It is seldom the best approach. Most used engines can be purchased for under $500 , w/ a guarantee. but the labor is where you will incur the cost.Plan on an average of 8-10hrs to remove, swap parts and replace the engine. A good mechanic will also clean all covers (oil pan, valve covers, oil pick-up) change out the secondary ignition components, replace the thermostat, clean the throttle body, and replace all seals and gaskets,(front and rear main seals). this ensures no oil leaks and less trouble down the road. Then there is the reason the engine needs to be replaced, did it overheat, is the radiator serviceable, injectors clean and functioning well? There is likely more than just the long block that needs attention. Most reasons for unhappy owners is that they try to avoid paying out the appropriate money when it comes time to repair a vehicle, the mechanic can only advise you of the needed repairs, if something come up in the middle of the job, it's your responsibility to address it or take the chance that it will fail and cost you more down the road. A new vehicle may not have any major problems right off, but that's not always the case.

The prices range from about $200 all the way into the thousands and you usually get what you pay for. If you're not worried about the quaility of the paint check out some of the cheaper places like Earl Schieb, Maaco, Miracle to start with. They have a good range of modern and classic colors. Look at the cars that have been recently painted and see if their work is something you like.
I've used Maaco twice. Their work is decent. Some runs here and there but not bad. Again take a look at different shops and see how long their paints are guaranteed for.

Painting any vehicle virtually guarantees that something bad will happen to it. I don't recommend it. And besides, Plymouth Voyagers are not exactly hard to find. Just find one in the color you want.

maco is the chaepest if you are just looking to get it painted they are around 300 -500 dollars depending on wher you live myself being an ex auto painter just to scuff the paint and reaplly would probably be aroun 1500 dollars if you are wanting to keep the vehicle i would pay a little more to get it done right as maco will only scuff and puff unless asked to do more and then it costs more

An idea: go to a technical school to get it done. Students will do the work cheaper than regular auto shops since they are learning. Price will vary, but I think that's the best way to go.

i know that at certain times of the year macco, advertises a half off deal. Like its usually five hundred dollars, but would only be two hundred and fifty. If it has dents and needs to be puttied and resurfaced then it may be more. so look around for a macco near you.
