What kind or wiring is in right now?? If it is old knob and tube - I would recommend having the system fully evaluated by a qualified electrical contractor. Typically electrical wiring has a design life of roughly fifty years. Conditions, repairs and overworked wiring can lead to early failure. Contact and electrician.

if it`s not knob and tube you may want to up grade as needed of specific loads your current wiring may not be able to handle safely such as a microwave oven, electric cook-top/oven or dryer.
consult a qualified electrician in your area for some assistance if you cant do it on your own.
