But realistically making it famous rapping is like playing in the nba a slim percentage will actually make it. I think that tv has given alot a young people a false reality of life. I know kids thats spend all there energy rapping but they have no education, In stead of wrinting music use that for something else positive that will transcend into money. truthfully alot of them are not worth listening to, at some point you gotta realize its not for you. I played basketball all through school highschool and college, i didn't have what it taked to go pro its the same wit rapping everyone not gonna make it.

Alot of kids and children from the ghetto and poor neighborhoods, see no way out. They feel that they have primarily three choices drug dealing, basketball star, or rapper. Their parents before them were poor and didnt get much of an education or a good job. So they see rapping as a golden ticket. A one way ticket to fame. All the glitz and glamour. I went to school around people like this. I used to judge them, until I understood it.
It continues like a cycle.

I did the same standing in front a mirror door when I was young pretending to be a pro rapper. back then it was tone loc, beastie boy's. now it's enimen etc. I still listen to eminem today, and I feel that people want to be rappers because it's a safe way to release there anger or rage build up inside them for some reason or other without going to jail over violent crimes, they can release there energy in " Vulgerity " if you will, rapping what they honestly feel inside about what's happened to them in their life, that made them so annoyed. In fact, I used to rap to the beastie boy's " Fight for your right to party" bacuase I wanted to go out, when my parents would not let me, and made me work with them around the house, I hated it, and would get revenge my own way by rapping to song's about going somewhere, or doing something fun, about partying or whatever...

If you come from the slums that they come from, you would realize that there are very limited sources in gaining a good education that will ensure college acceptance. Most of them realize that their talent will get them far in life... hence the "dreams", and "false hopes". If you want to help children in your community to become influential and educated - you can do something about it. Be a mentor.

Because they have society telling them that it's the only way for them to make money. Society tells them they aren't smart, they can't be doctors or lawyers, so they'd better find another way to make money. Either steal it or be a rapper. My cousin has this mentality. He's been listening to the outside world too often. He used to be way different. People need to stop letting the world tell them what they can and can't do and make their own decisions.
