I have to interview a project manager for class. I have 3 questions to ask:

1. Please elaborate why project managers often take the role of both leader and manager.

2. Please describe the unique features that make information technology projects different from other types of projects and elaborate how a project manager should adjust to these differences.

3. Please describe how a project manager should select (choose/assess) an information project.

I don't know any project managers, can someone help me out?

What's the purpose of your interview? What's your objective, focus?

Have you researched a project manager's responsibilities?

About your questions:

1. It seems to me both characteristics are required every time, so "often take the role" is a little naive.

2. Unless you know the background of the individual PM, how do you know he/she has managed more than 1 project?

3. PMs don't usually get to select their projects. They are given them or they inherit them in a corporate structure.

Finally, PMs are usually industry-specific, they don't jump around from an IT project to a road construction project as a norm.

Good Luck
