1. Clean and unwrinkled clothes. Look conservative, not rapper or hippy like. Clean body and smell clean. Try to go after a shower with your hair dry. Wet hair looks greasy. Dress in a white shirt and tie (if guy) or nice skirt (if girl). Take out the piercings and cover the tattoos.

2) Look the interviewer in the eye part of the time. Look away some of the time or you will look crazy.

3) Don't mumble. Say yes and no, not yeah and nope.

4) Don't be high or smell of alcohol.

5) Shake their hand if they offer their hand to you.

6) Say "thank you" and "please".

For Kroger that's about all you will need unless you have robbed grocery stores, then you may have a problem.

I worked for Kroger for 5 years. I was making over $18 an hour when i quit to do a job i liked for less pay. Kroger is run by morons who will micro manage you until you're ready to go postal. Example: Condition 3 snow emergency on the roads means no driving whatsoever. You will be ticketed and can possibly be arrested. Kroger Mgmt told us we would be charged with unexecused absences for not coming in. They claimed that because we are food service the laws don't apply to us. Even if that were true, why would you endanger your employees lives. Condition 3 roads are closed for a reason. My point is, STAY AWAY FROM KROGER. They will suck your will to live.

These are really basic, and I'm sure you've heard them.

Be clean. Wear a nice shirt, a tie if you're male. This shows that you have respect for the manager, by looking neat for him/her.

Bring a pen and fill out the application legibly. Take time to do this. If something doesn't apply, write N/A. Write "Open" on salary requested.

Have some questions written up. Is this a union job? If so, what is the collective bargaining agreement? How many hours a week? What will my duties be?

If you are under 18, you will need to get a work permit. Fill it out and get it to the manager without delay.

Hiring managers want people with the right attitude. Any specific skill can be taught, but not showing up on time, doing the job well, and taking pride in your work. Show a good attitude and you'll get the job.

that fifty miles rule is organic bunkum. (stuff and nonsense) I stay in a brilliant city and that i've got utilized tio multiple jobs on line - maximum of them below 15 miles from my living house, and that i nonetheless get the interviews and the jobs. Your could make your resume shine, and stick out from the others. there's no longer something incorrect with on line submissions. some companies in easy terms enable on line, and no different approaches (different than possibly fax). i individually choose making use of on line by using fact it tells me that the employer is technically as much as this element. If I had to deliver a letter with the help of positioned as much as a job, then i might end that they've not got a working laptop or pc so as that they are previous formed and that i does no longer be chuffed there so I dont difficulty making use of.

Dress nicer than you think you need to be, be personable, look your interviewer in the eye, smile a lot, and be the person you'd want helping you in Kroeger's. Good luck with it.
