I think you should go to a dermatoligist and ignore your father.

Make-up can clog your pores, so if your feeling especially gross about your pimples, maybe try not wearing it for a few days, and see if your skin clears up. Also, try using face wash with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide (forgive my spelling) to help clean out your pores. I don't know why your dad thought peanuts were the cause, because peanuts have nothing to do with acne, neither does any other food (i.e. pizza, chocolate, greasy foods etc...) that's is a big myth about acne.

If none of these suggestions work, try seeing a dermatologist to help you diagnose the problem. My ex-boyfriend had the worst acne I had ever seen until he went to a dermatologist, and he looks a lot better now (unfortunately, it was AFTER we had broken up that he started to look decent....) I wish you the best of luck!

I asked my dermatoligist this question a while ago when I had acne and she said make up doesn't cause your acne. It actually provides a shield between your skin and the enviroment which is what is really harsh for your skin and makes it dirty and therefore can cause acne. Just make sure you wash your face twice a day and try using an acne scrub like st.ives. Also, use moisturizer because if your skin is not properly moisturized it will produce it's own oil and cause more acne. Just use a spot treatment under the moisturizer right on each pimple, boo boo zap from benefit works better than anything else I've tried.

I would go to the dermotologist as well - make up does not cause acne/pimples. There are a number of things that cause acne, most of it is genetic, so eating healthy food will assist your skin to improve but not dramatically. I would recommend using Cetaphil lotion cleanser and moisturiser and also taking tablets that the doctor can prescribe for you. Sometimes it can be hormonal as well, so a pill like Yasmin or Dianne may also help. Having acne sucks (I had it when I was younger too) so I wish you all the best!

One thing I can share with you is that when I eat peanuts I break out too. I love'em but had to give them up. Personally, I think your diet does have a big role in pimples, just because your skin pores clog with sebum and then the bacteria get going. I wash with noxema or that proactive stuff and that helps. I don't know what kind of foundation you use, but those heavy creamy types don't help your skin condition cause they clog the pores too. The bare mineral powders seem more helpful in this regard.

I highly doubt your acne is caused by anything you eat. If you develop red bumps every time you eat a certain food, then perhaps you have an allergy not acne. As for the makeup, sometimes cover up can clog up your pores and make your acne worse. Buy makeup that says that it will not clog pores. Wash your face with a gentle acne fighting soap twice a day (no more or you will dry out your skin). Trust me, I've dealt with acne for years and I''ve tried many products and only a few have worked for me. Try different soaps and facial masks and hopefully you will find the one you like.

Sometimes makeup can be the cause of pimple development. It depends on the makeup you use. You should consider using brands that actually say they dont clog pores and dont cause acne that should really help. One of the most helpful makeup companies when it comes to pimples is neutrogena

First of all, what is your skin regimen?? Are you using products that help with acne?? I can tell you from experience that Philosophy works really well with clearing up skin. I use Juice Beauty products which are organic and those work really well for me also. I think you just need to find a product that works for your skin. And you should always go at least one day a week without wearing makeup because it lets your skin breathe. You can find both of those products at Sephora if you are interested in checking them out. Good luck, I hope you find something that works for you.

wearing make-up may clog pores, or pimples may come from hormones and internal conditions. Before trying different things and lotions, why not see a dermatologist so you can know for sure? Good Luck!

My advice...Stop the breakouts and use something that is actually good for your skin. I have been using Nu Skin Clear Action® and it doesn't compare to any other. My skin chemistry changes all of the time and I still never have a problem.

Here's the site check it out. They also have foundations that complement your skin.
