I love scary movies, and I remember Children of the Corn was one of my all time favorite horror movies. Maybe it was being young, but I remember being so scared watching that movie. The scene where they find the dead kid in the road-corn fields on both sides of the highway-and the body flinches...creepy!!!
Also, Psycho, Omen (the original), The Silence of the Lambs, Amityville Horror I & II, and What Lies Beneath are great thrillers.

The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, mostly because it looked like raw, almost real footage. The most blood curtling scene is when Leather Face first appears. There's no build up music, no flashy soundtrack, just a squeaky metal sliding door opening, a thud over some dude's skull with a meat hammer, and the guy being drug off still convulsing. What I liked most about it though I guess is it really didn't have a happy or gratifying ending.
