Your ethnic background doesn't matter. But you must have been born here. I believe the age requirement is 35. Doesn't matter how long your ancestors have been here. You don't have to even be a college grad. But I can't imagine someone being elected who hasn't graduated from college. Yale and Harvard are "Ivy League" schools, meaning that only the best and brightest are admitted, that's why so many of the past presidents have come from there. Presidents do not have to have a law degree (our current president holds a MBA-no law degree). Many of the politicians are former attorneys and judges probably because they are interested in law and that's what the Senate, Congress and President do mostly, make and enact laws.

Ethnicity or nationality do not matter. If your parents were born in another country but you were born in the U.S. you could run for president. The requirements to be president are be at least 35 years of age, be a natural born citizen, and be a resident of the U.S. for a minimum of 14 years. No education requirement is needed to run for president. You cannot run for president if you take the citizenship test. Example: Arnold Schwarzenegger cannot run for president because he was born in Austria even though he is a U.S. citizen.

You have to be born in the United States, have lived in the US for the previous 14 years and be 35. There is no other requirement for being president. Your parents could have immigrated here before you were born and you can be a high school drop out. You would still be eligible to run for president.

As it stands today, you must have been born in America to become President. There is talk of amending that so that Arnold can run, but it hasn't happened yet.

Your parents can be from anywhere. You don't have to be a lawyer, or have gone to any specific school.

The qualifications for President are spelled out in the Constitution, which you can find on the internet.
