i believe my sound card is onboard the motherboard, and my usb keyboard has been getting disconnected and reconnected by itself.
Do you think this could be an issue with the mother board?
Also i had this issue once about 9 months ago, it magically fixed it self back then.

May need more details. Are you trying to play a CD? Check that the a cable from the CD to the Board/Sound Card to get the sound.
You not say what OS you have. Try going to Control Panel > System > Device Manager. Scroll for your Sound, click the little + on the left and see if there is a ? mark on the Sound Card, if so, Highlight it or Double Click, I not remember and try to install the Sound Drivers from CD. Browse the CD and find the Driver Folder select it and click OK the Wizard should do the rest.

The configuration might have changed to digital mode. you will have to revert it to analog mode. still the problem occurs, try uninstalling the drivers, even then the problem remains, then reinstall the OS

deploy the audio motive force from the help CD that comes with your gadget. take word that Vista (x64) motive force is appropriate in Win7. in case you haven't got the CD, attempt to % out the producer or sort/sort of the sound card and Google for motive force.
