I think skinny is one thing and boney is another. You can be naturally lean and skinny, but starving yourself to be 100lbs when you're supposed to be 120lbs is bad, plus it does set a bad example to young women. I was one of the few that never compared myself to magazines, i ate my food and never sat in front of the mirror and said: "im so fat, im so ugly, i look like crap, blah blah blah" and im happy for it. I'm 5'6 and im proud to say im 155lbs, i dont care who knows my weight, i'll say it to all Yahoo! Answers... because i'm ok with me, nowwww how do i fix my feet, bc size 10 is just ridiculous??? :)

I've been thinking about this lately and am starting to wonder if it's the fashion industry that are the problem or Hollywood.
At the end of the day fashion models are there to demonstrate new fashions. They are basically a clothes hanger on which to hang clothes off. We are not supposed to be focusing on the models and they are not their for men's sexual gratitude either.
But as far as Hollywood is concerned, there is absolutely no excuse to this size 0 madness that exists and that is where I believe the truly issue lies. Why does a talented, attractive actress need to be a size 0 to get a decent role?
I'm 5ft2, 120lb and a size 6-8 (35-27-38.5). I know people that would believe that at my height, anything above a size 4 is 'fat'. That is how ridiculous the world has become.
HTH : )

great topic. I do think that they should not completely ban those models because there ARE SOME people who are naturally very thin, but they need to add models from eevry size range just to be fair. even marilyn monroe was a size 16, and she would probably be considered "chubby" in these days. but ask any guy what would he perfer, a marilyn monroe or a Calista Flockhart, they would go for marilyn. osme girls just need to realize that skinny doesnt always = beautiful, so they should just EAT and be healthy. i myslef am somewhat curvy (34 - 23- 36) and i wuldnt ever wish to be model thin.

I think that it may be a little extreme to ban modeling but there should be a limit on the minimum amount of weight like the minimum weight is 200lbs. or so. That's what I think anyway.
