It can be rewarding for someone who like being in different cultures and stuff. From what I understand, if you are in it to make money- you'll have to go and get your masters. Even then, the money isn't all that great so it'd definitely have to be something you enjoy.
I have a professor and her husband who both have masters in that area and they have lived all over the world. They loved it!!!

A degree in anthropology? Fine! Any degree is good, its important to have one, in helps in life. But..da most important thing is to really enjoy what u do. Then a degree is a great satisfactory reward.
As for job opportunities...Im not sure, but i know people with different degrees (including myself) who have found ncie jobs in different fields, sometimes not related to their majors. Some employers will just look at u and be like "woa, this guy has a higher education degree!". Hope ive helped a bit.
