I own a copy of the play that was copyrighted in 1895, and it has the code of arms on the front. it also has a misprint of Shakespeares name, spelling it Shakspere. I'm just curious as how much I could get for it.

I don't get why this would be valuable at all. By 1895, copies of all of Shakespeare's works were common, and the fact that the publishers of this one didn't know how to spell the dude's name doesn't strike me as significant, in a collectible sense.

Gotta agree with Shkspr on this one. Considering that Midsummer was first performed sometime around 1595ish and first printed in the Shakespearean Folios, this is not "an original copy," nor is it particularly rare. There's currently an 1898 edition selling on ebay for about $35.

I'm sure it's worth a couple of bucks, but like the last two have said, a copy published 300 years after the play was written can hardly be called original. $35 sounds like a fair price to me.

you may get million dollars, but you should find a buyer from another country. maybe you should find a buyer from Turkey. first try yo proove the reality of the copyright year.

If you have such a precious, rare book, you should treasure it, not try to sell it. I own such a rare book and, trust me, I wouldn't sell it no matter how poor I'd be. Money is no equivalent for true value.
