what is the difference between goth and emo?

goths=dark, maybe a little scary.

emo= kind of like a new age goth, but more girly, especially the guys. tight pants, cut their wrists(but not really), effeminate.


'emo' isnt really a type of person, its a music genre, not short for emotional, short for emotive hardcore, which was around during the 80's and is long dead.
but for some reason current alt.rock bands are considered emo, and thus comes the tight pants and girlyness.

The difference between Goth and Emo is that Goth is when you're basically the "Dark Child", you wear all black, and really don't have any time on your hands to get into the Jesus spirit, or where all these tattos, and show no emotion. Some people say that it's representing superstious and demons, or whatever! Emo, it's more of the male place to be. It's when mostly guys where tight pants and go around with their hair cut in a certain style, and sometimes wear Eyeliner. I don't know if this is a good example of being emo, but take the Fall Out Boys for example, or one of the guys from the group. I don't know much about all that Rock-N-Roll music but I think I'm on the right page! I hope I helped!

Emos wear really tight jeans that look like they came from Gap Kids. Goths wear really baggy, black jeans that look like they should be made into parachutes.

Emos hate themselves. Goths hate society.

Emo music may deal with teen angst, but can be incomprehensible and not understandable (example: Fallout Boy). Goth music may deal with angst involving how everyone else is imposing their morals/rules/religion on them, but can be incomprehensible and not understandable (screaming, seven guitars blaring at the same time).

To be specific, there are differences between goths and emos, but in a nutshell, they're all whiners with really annoying music. Sorry if I offended any goths or emos reading this...
