Calcium, being an alkaline earth metal is ductile. Ductility is often reported as the Poisson's ratio (the negative of the transverse strain divided by the axial strain). The Poisson ratio for Calcium is 0.31 (this is similar to Copper at 0.33).

I do not understand the logic. Body is a universe, a cosmos, it is so well balanced and perfect in its architecture. It is our ego or human interference that imbalances the body. The body has the cognizing power, it has the sentience, volition and other types of powers within each cell that determines its balanced and harmonic functions. Therefore, body knows how much Calcium or other elements it has to assimilate from the food each day and how much reserve of what has to be kept where. It know the general food the body takes every day and induces cravings, likings etc when more is needed so that you feel appetite when a particular object is seen through the sense we call eye and thus satisfy the need of the body by buying or producing them and eating them. Strictly therefore these likes, desires, dislikes etc are meant to satisfy the balanced needs of the body to maintain a healthy condition. One should therefore, go strictly by want the body is telling you by way of hunger, thirst, appetite, desire, likes and dislikes etc. If some thing which you not taking is continuously being disliked by the body or the person, it should also construed that there is a derangement or defect in the system which needs correction. Here the intelligence rules over the natural instincts. The body also discards for e.g. Calcium in the stools if excess calcium is send into the body through the mouth by the process of eating. If a person is having normal good food in the house, the question of calcium deficiency do not arise at all. Calcium deficiency or any other deficiency for that matter is caused only when there is malnutrition, convalescence, loss of vital fluids, serious debilitating illness, etc. etc. where urgent supplementation or reinforcements would be needed. Here the terminology deficiency is valid. In the case of a broken bone, no Calcium loss has taken place if that had happened due to an accident or outside force acting upon the bone. If the breakage has caused due to internal reasons, like osteoporosis or density loss in bones or malleability or ductility of the bone etc.etc. one needs immediate reinforcement with phosphates and calcium. But will the supplementation solve the problem? NO. That has happened because there is an assimilation disorder within the patient. That has to be corrected first, if not all the calcium taken as supplement will go into the stools without assimilation into the body or it will get deposited here and there creating problems like spondylosis, caries and the like or more serious ailments. In all such cases there is an assimilation problem and therefore, immediately before any supplementation or use of more nutrient food, the problem has to be corrected. The correction can be done only at the energy or life force or immunity levels and the lymphatic and endocrine glands levels inorder that they command the organs concerned in a Body way of Language how to naturally correct them, rather than we interfering from outside to attempt to correct one like opening the Bonnet of the car and trying to fix an engine problem part by part. The correction above usually can be done by potentised forms of medicines into energy vibes and the system is prevailing in homeopathic administration of medicines in energy forms. A few doses of Calcarea Carb 30 or Calcarea Phos 6X normally fixes the problem of assimilation, No further medicines would be required as body will take in all Calciums necessary for body from the daily food itself. In the case in point, there is a breakage of the bones. All that the bone needs to refix itself naturally is immobilisation. A cast is usually put to achieve that. it usually takes upto 45 days for a bone to fix well depending on the place at which the bone is situated. Like bones in the knees etc takes more time as it is frequently used. The other aspect is the regrowth of bone or bone marrow or bones not joining after an accident. The medicine Symphytum 200 in homeopathy helps the body life force to rejuvenate and regrow the bone marrows and for faster joining of the bones. This medicines can be used in very infrequent doses in all cases of bone fracture, along with Phosphorus 30 to replenish the muscle wastages if that had happened. Increasing of Calcium therefore would be harmful to the body in the long run if taken in pills and supplements forms, if they are not required strictly for the body. Any doctor who advices otherwise knows well the body anatomically but fails to understand the body spiritually and in totality. With best wishes. Medicines should be used in consultation with a doctor.
