there were only two whig presidents-Taylor and Harrison--and neither of them did too many things that caused them to be highly remember--just wanted to point that out.

in regards to the democratic-republican I am a fan of Thomas Jefferson.

For my favorite democrat I would say FDR. He did amazing things for our country.

Adams was the only Federalist president, so he has to my favorite in that catagory.

For Republican for some reason I am a fam of Teddy Roosevelt

Washington set the standard for all others to try to live up to. He was the best. Every time period has a outstanding president that has done something to save or improve this great nation and I think that Reagan and G. W. Bush will prove to be amongst the top ten by future generations. Clinton will be looked at as a failure

FDR, Lincoln, Teddy, and JFK did an awesome job during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Few people understand the urgency in a very delicate situation where timing was crucial.

All were great people in some ways. Lets face it, how many of us have the ambition, nerve, ability, and intellect to become a President. These days it is popular for people to criticize great people, to sound smug, be jealous of those that ACTUALLY accomplish something great in their life. Let's face it, and yes, some were better than others, but all of them won at something!

Lincoln is the greatest followed very closely by FDR. Both of these men led this country through very tough times and managed to keep our country together through all the hardships. Others I would consider in the top five:

Washington
Reagan
JFK

There were a lot of good ones! It's hard to pick just one, but my personal favorite is FDR.

Ford, Clinton, Washington, Jefferson, Eizenhower, Truman, JFK... They all had their own challenges. We've been blessed as a nation to have as many great leaders as we have.
