Caused by too much materialism?
-How does it affect the heart and mind of the young children…the future American Citizens?
-Will this divorce rate worsen…..reach 70%...90%?
-Will this spread to the rest of the World?
-Will this affect Human Survival?

because half of all marriages don't work out

the marriages don't work out, that's why a couple split. causes could be infedility, probability a little materialism, jealousy, and psychological differences. Children could be affected in a bad way, but if explained the situation, and given equal custody and visting permittance to both parents and if tracked and brought in a well-trained manner, children are less likely to suffer any kind of trauma. and take it easy man, it's not an epidemic, it would spread or anything. people don't go around divorcing for the heck of it.

Crime is also a factor that causes some to divorce.
Also remember that those who take advice from others to live half a marriage also allow others to con them into being half a parent. This puts a huge imbalance in a family and can be an additional factor when viewing statistics.

People marry for the wrong reasons. The see marriage as a opportunity to fulfill sexual desires or for material gain. Two of the worst reasons you can get married for. If the marriage is not built on a solid foundation which two people can build off of, such as Jesus Christ. Then it will always be miserable or fall apart.

I'll give a few good reasons:
1)Get married too young when you cant support a spouse
2)Get married too early when you don't know enough about your spouse
3)Get married with divorce as a "back-up plan" for if it doesn't work out
4)Get married to someone you can live with, instead of someone you can't live without
5)Divorce is (sadly)much more socially acceptable now than it was 100 years ago.
