in the device manager it tells me it cant start (error code 10) followed the steps the troubleshooter gave me but no good

Check back and see if you followed the installation instructions precisely. Sometimes the software has to be loaded at an exact point in the process (like before you install the hardware adapter.)

Error Code 10 usually means that Windows cannot find the Driver software for the device.

You may have to uninstall the adapter, reinstall the software, then reinstall the adapter.

Try:
Go to device manager and right click on the belkin and select uninstall. Then unplug it from your PC. Reboot the computer and then completely uninstall the software that came with the belkin. Reboot the PC again. Now reinstall the software first, and then plugin your Belkin.
A common mistake is to connect the USB device first and then install the software, in which case you get the error you are describing.
If it still doesn't work after the above, try downloading new drivers from the company website.

I am assuming you have loaded the drivers from the CD that came with the adapter. If you have not, do so. If you have, you will need to find some other way to the net to download updated drivers. And if that doesn't work, then either your USB port is bad, the cable is bad (if you are using a cable) or the adapter itself is bad.

To locate updated drivers just go to Google and enter "F5D7050 drivers download" into the search field and hit enter.
