Refer to owners manual on towing capabilities. The bumper hitch will probably be 500 lbs tongue wieht with around 5 k for total or something like that. If you have a receiver hitch it will be more.

I have been towing a 3500 lb boat, PLUS the weight of the trailer PLUS a 10 HP outboard motor on the bumper hitch of my 2001 Chevy Blazer ,4X4, 4 door 4.3 V-6 for over ten years with no problem. The vehicle itself is rated to tow 6000 pounds. There seems to be a lot of uninformed people answering questions on this forum. That could be dangerous to one's safety and well being. Please don't answer unlss you know what you are saying to be factual.

you are forgetting that accelleration does not affect mass, but it does affect weight.
People who refuse to wear their seat belt are ignorant of this fact. At less than a 30 MPH crash, the human body "weighs" over 800lbs and unless you can bench press 800#, you cannot put your hands out to protect yourself. Many a greiving mother safely strapped in and holding her baby, has had the child ripped out of her arms and pulverized to a mush of flesh in a minor fender bender. The woman walks away scarred for life, because the baby "weight" was far too much for her to be strong enough to hold.
Likewise, a 700 lb trailer will hold another ton of boxes. in a sudden stop, or a sudden start, you will bend your bumper if not rip it right off the truck. Accelerating up a hill on a freeway and it lets go and you now have a lethal weapon that will kill people in other cars...
Can you get away with it if you pack light loads and are very very careful, and you have no reason to panic stop? Probably... Can you rent a moving van for $50 and be much safer and have it be a much easier move with lots of room to work? YUP.
Uhaul has the ratings, because thay have had the law suits over the years. You can either take their experience at face value, or you can learn from your own mistakes.

Anytime I tow anything I make sure that I have a tow hitch receiver on my vehicle. I don't trust those factory bumpers for anything other than make the vehicle look nice. Install a tow hitch for a couple hundred bucks and then you don't have to worry. And since your at UHAUL they can install your hitch and wiring for you.
