Most of the time, In have to say, classes are taught in Vietnamese... However, there is a new member college of the Ho Chi Minh City's Vietnam National University named International University (Dai Hoc Quoc Te) that uses English as a language of instruction. I have many friends who is attending this campus - they had to pass the National Standard Entrance Exam n obtained TOEFL (Test of Englisih as a Foreign Language) score beofore they could get admitted... Foreign exchange students are normally sent here as well...
Hope this will best answer ur question ^^

All Vietnamese universities and colleges use Vietnamese as the language of instruction, even in science subjects. There are a few foreign universities such as the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) that use English but if you wan to come to Vietnam to study, why in the world would you want to go to an Australian school?
There are international students from all over the world who study in Hanoi and Saigon (HCMC) and they have no problems learning enough Vietnamese to do well in college there. You should check it out.

Vietnamese is an official language in Vietnam. Why would they have to teach in English, French, Chinese, German, Russian, Italian, Austrian, Polish, Romanian, or Spanish?
Does that answer your question?
