From a medical point of view bringing your child to Panama shouldn't present any problems. Especially if you stay in Panama City. If you venture off into Darien or somewhere in country then you consider innoculations for your children.
Those that don't know Panama think it's an unhealthy country, but far from that Panama is a modern cosmopolitan city.

You may find this website helpful... http://www.cdc.gov/travel/. Definitely check with your pediatrician too. If you get the ok to travel there just beware that the water may not be treated the same as it is in North America. So make sure you boil all things the baby will use. Be careful rinsing off nipples with tap water. Could cause the baby to get dissentary which could promote dehydration and cause death in infants. Hope this helps!!! I love Panama...so if you go...have fun for me!!!
Ciao!!!

I lived for 6 years in developing countries (Asia, Latin America) and saw westerners bring babies/children all the time. None of them ever got sick (although their parents sometimes did). My siblings and I were also taken to Colombia to visit family and never got sick, not once.
However, every individual is different and you don't know how they are going to react in every situation. There are potential risks involved in every situation, and just because the chance of something happening is unlikely, doesn't mean it's impossible. So, my advice would be to weigh the risk and benefits (after talking with your pediatrician) and then make your decision.
If you do decide to go with your baby, the neccessary innoculations along with simple precautions (sealed bottled water only, keep them clean, keep them away from sick individuals, etc.) should be enough.
Best of luck!

I wouldn't bring my newborn baby anywhere out of the country. This is not a safe time in our world to be traveling outside the country.

Talk to your pediatrician before you go anywhere. They'll be able to tell you whether or not it's safe. There are some major health concerns with infants because they are not nearly up to speed as adults are with their immune systems.

I will say yes, but be very careful by not exposing him to air, cover him very well and always protect him from too much hands to carry him. he will be safe and sound without fever or any disease.
