I've got this vision in my head that drinking, gambling and wild parties are what "should be done" in Vegas. I'm heading out there February 19-24 with my girlfriend who doesn't drink--she's in AA. Is Vegas still fun without the alcohol?? I don't want to offend her, but I will probably have a few...

Any "non-alcoholic" suggestions on things to do out there would be appreciated!!

i dont drink, you dont drink booze in the shows, you can gamble with out drinking, lots of movies, ammusment rides at circus circus, fish tanks at the mirage, the pirate battle at treasure island at night, loads of designer shops to look in, and not buy, the antique car show, dolphin show at the mirage, about 5 different circ du solie shows at once in different places, the mgm lion, the white tiger, the luxor pyramid, the jousting dinner at the excalibur, I simply loved looking at the wild buildings and touring them, across the street from the luxor is one that has a jungle inside, looks like bali or something, lots of music and stuff in little bars, you can stand out in the hall and hear the music easily if you dont want to go in, i went into a bar to listen to a jazz trio and only drank diet coke. its all i do drink. stop by and say hi, monday is my birthday.

Just about everything you can do in Las Vegas, you can do sober. However, are you testing your girlfriend's will power? It is the party capital of the world - a place that even allows open containers on the sidewalks and free alcoholic drinks while you are gambling. Everywhere you look you see someone with a drink in his/her hand. To top it all off you are going to have a few as well and you hope she won't be offended? Seems a little bit unfair to her. Hopefully she has been in AA for a while. If not, don't blame her if she falls, and I mean falls, off the wagon.

Yeah you don't have to drink to have fun.

You can still gambel and go to the casinos and stuff.

I went without drinking or gambling and it was still fun.. but then again we went for New Years so it was pretty crazy :)

If you go to the strip theres a bunch of shops and nice places. Also there are a lot of shows and stuff you can go to at the casinos.

I don't think you should let your gf know you're drinking if she's in AA, especially if she just started the program.

omg yes!!! there is soo much to do there, famous hotels, theme parks, faires, gambling, and the mountains surround it. out of those things you can do tons of things. For a place to stay over night, you can do some research on hotels there, one has a big roller coaster on it. Vegas also has alot of parks, i dont know anyone that dosent have a good time there. If you are 21 or over, you can gamble, but make sure you dont lose all of it. The mountains alone, you will be able to ski, snowboard, hick, what ever you like to do.

vegas is one of the biggest atractions in the world, and dont forget about the state parks.

It's still fun... You're going to see the booze all over the place, but it's not right in your face all the time. (You can order bottled water or sodas from the cocktail servers in the casinos!) I'm not a big drinker - only imbibe occasionally - and I still manage to have fun. (It's also better if you gamble with a clearer head anyway - you lose more slowly!)

Kudos to your girlfriend for getting treatment! Best of luck to her!!
