The best & most versatile metal guitars are Ibanez models, RG series, Iceman (although such shapes, and the ones by B.C. Rich, are stupid and so easy to damage, hard to carry... total cosmetics crap), S series, and maybe SG series. My preference is RG series, because of the 24 frets, Floyd Rose and general quality, only I replace pickups with DiMarzios. If you can, you want to buy a Prestige model, they are better than regular ones (and made in japan, not Korea). What you can do is go to Ibanez.com in one tab, to see the models, and to musiciansfriend.com in another tab, see the prices of various models, they are cheaper than any store. You might want to check out RG550 20th anniversary models, they started the metal guitar craze in the late 80s (and I have a black one from those days he he he), even Steve Vai model is essentially based on that model.

For any Manson sounds you need a mountain of effects, the guitar alone won't do it. His musicians are not very good so they use lots of effects to compensate.
