im trying to jump on the busted stairs where the final entrance is to the palace library

just jump instead of walking, enchant rings and amulets with acrobatics and/or buy acrobat levels when you level up
How I kept my boots was by changing them in mid air before you hit bottom and break them

There is a trick to The boots of springheeled jack actually. If you havent given them back to the Grey Fox yet. Put them on and get arrested, by stealing something. They will take everything from you, stay your time in jail. When you get out try and put on the boots again. It shouldnt let you, but if you look at your acrobatics skill its should the the + modifier from the boots on it. which is 75 i think... been a while since i had the boots.

whenever you walk around always jump. it will increase your acrobatic skill. There are also some other boots out there that increase your acrobatic(i can't remember where they are). You could enchant something to increase acrobatics also.
What are u trying to jump on?

Just train yourself in acrobatics.
