Condi Rice was instrumental in guiding the US through the collapse of the USSR, and communism. Should she be given more credit?

Yes, she should get more credit than she does. But keep in mind that the accomplishments you cited took place when she was a policy adviser -- not a very sexy job! -- and she's not a braggart. Also, sad to say, her tenure so far as Secretary of State has not yet really produced any tangible, quantifiable results.

Also, politics, politics, politics. Bruin's answer is a good example of mindless, polemic criticism.

With Blacks as with Whites, not all of them will rise to high places or excel in their work. But many will. There are many Blacks who appreciate Rice's talents and industry, whether or not they agree with her. Just as I appreciate Obama's talent and hard work, though I don't agree with him.

She should surely get credit for the welts on George W's back. Have you ever seen him in a bathing suit?

I give her plenty of credit for lying to the American public, helping to lead this country into an illegal and immoral war, killing tens of thousands of people, and following the disastrous policies of an idiot president. Hey, thanks Condi!
