Mexicans have high respect and love for the Irish . During the Mexican-American War, Americans recruited Europeans for the war. The poorer Irish came to America to help defeated the Mexicans. After seeing how the Mexicans were being treated, and seeing that they were Catholics also. The Irish could not support the war against the Mexicans, they actually took up arms with the Mexicans to help against the Americans. Sept 12 is Mexico's celebration of LOS SAN PATRICIOS of the brave 85 Irish brothers that gave their lives for the Mexican cause. They also have celebration to honor these men in Ireland on SAN PATRICIOS DAY in Clifden, Galway.
Irish are treated with honor in Mexico, this is taught in all schools in Mexico.
There is a large number of Irish Ancestry in Mexico with most notable Alvaro Obregon(originally O'BRIEN) President of Mexico 1920-24, Actor-- Anthony Quinn, President-- Vincente Fox and the real-life Zorro ---William Lamport. City of Obregon& Airport of Obregon.

Well, I'm Mexican and I suppose I'm an anomaly because I do not like to party all the time. I rarely drink alcohol. I'm not Catholic. I do put my family above everything, which is definitely a Mexican tradition, as Mexicans believe that family is very important. I can cook Mexican food (as well as the regular old American stuff).
But yes, by and large most Mexicans love to party and drink alcohol. I don't know why, but it might have something to do with the fact that we just like to get together as often as possible and enjoy our friend's and family's company.
Oh, and Drew...you're an incredibly rude person. Do the world a favor and stop stereotyping, don't be a racist (or go take a long walk off a short pier, whichever you prefer).

Cinco de Mayo isn't even celebrated in Mexico. once you're Mexican, you does now no longer be bringing this up. that is such an American holiday (fueled through ability of businesses like Corona, Taco Bell, and diverse stereotyping Mexican vendors).

They're just merrier than, say, Icelanders. But the latter surely have their own marrymaking ways. We human beings are more interconected than you may expect.
