Hitler took power and slowly erroded the freedoms of his own people. In that way, yes Bush is like Hitler.

Hitler used the first World War and the horrible economic depression it left in Europe to use the Jews as scape goats for his zealous nationalism. Bush has used 9-11 as his scape goat for Iraq, and only recently have you been able to say the war on terror has been wrong for the U.S. without being called a terrorist. So Bush had a system of zealous nationalism to defend his ideas just like Hitler.

Hitler killed millions of people for power. Bush is sending thousands of our troops for oil. Similar, but not exactly the same, yet.

Trying to question the leaders absolute power gets you called a traitor, or UnAmerican. So yes the situation is very similar to Germany right before WWII.

I honestly do not know what to think about Bush.
He has taken away some of our rights and has the right to listen to our phone calls and stuff. People say that this war is a waste of time and stuff, but my Dad says that the war isn't just to kill people. My Dad has been the following the terriosm stuff for 20 years. (Yes, it has been going on THIS long. Although we didn't actually go into war till 2003). Although he agrees that Bush has done wrong stuff he told me what he's found out from the news: He says that Bush wants to give them a new goverment and we are helping them. He also says that spys are finding out where the troops are and are putting bombs in their area and stuff. Some people say it's because we want all of their oil there. That's not true because Russia has a LOT of oil and we're not going over to Russia and starting a war with them just to get oil. Some people say that the Iraqis do not even want a goverment like our's and we need to stop trying to make them just like us. That's not true-SOME Iraqis want a goverment like our's so they can VOTE for who they WANT. Some Iraqis don't want people like Saddam again. After all, who would anyway? He turned off their electricity and water for days! I will say that some Iraqis don't want a new goverment. But just because SOME don't want a goverment like ours doesn't mean ALL of people feel that way. I'm not saying I know all of this stuff about the war-cuz I don't. And if I got any events wrong or sort of off a bit, then I'm sorry.
I don't think Bush can really be considered the new Hitler because he is not comitting a genocide. If he was telling people to go kill Iraqis then sure, he'd probably be considered the new Hitler.
I am very confused on Bush's views though. He is having the troops teach the "enemy" our tricks and giving them weapons. Several people say that the enemy can turn their back on us again and then we won't have any protection. Some also say that Europe is being invaded and it's just a matter of time before they come over here to the US.
I'm almost 15 and I don't know which side to take--people who really do not understand the war and just know what they hear from people around them, are spreading crap around. Others who actually know a thing or two, aren't always being heard because of all of the rumors that people are spreading.

I think that this question is more of an opinion because we all have different views on Bush. Some like him and others don't. Don't think I'm just all talk and stuff-I understand, this IS a serious issue.

Hope I sort of helped!

Well I can't say much in terms of agendas and conspiracies and covert operations because, as history has taught us, we never really learn the truth and what bits we do actually get come way too far after the fact for anyone to do anything about it. I can speak from women's intuition though and right now it is telling me that there is something seriously wrong. Something is wrong with this administration, with previous elections, with the war, with wanting to spread "democracy" to other nations, with health care, with employment, . . . I can go on but the point is, SOMETHING IS WRONG! Is America evil? Maybe but what American will really fess up to that? Strike that, What American politician will ever admit to it let alone try to fix it? American citizens may feel that way but we seem to have lost our collective voice. We leave the talking to the politicians but those we vote into office are not speaking for us, as democracy suggests they should, but AS us. How can we spread democracy to other nations when we have not perfected the technique at home? The real question is not whether America is the real evil but what can America do to fix what it has done?

I can guess that most of the answers to this question are kind of biased.

Well, Bush (take your pick, they're both just as bad as each other) is pushing a pathetically disguised agenda to fuel his illegal war which has resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of innocent people. He has been torturing middle eastern countries for years Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and others that I can't think of off hand.

When the British or Americans publish articles about "our 100th casualty" or how many people they have lost, why doesn't anyone think of the amount of people on the other side? As a guess, I think that for every casualty the Americans suffer, the middle east suffers a thousand. Who is the real megalomaniacal evil here?

And it is all for one thing. Oil. Were there any weapons of mass destruction? Why is the middle east referred to as the axis of evil? Now that Saddam Hussein has been caught and dealt with, why are they still there? Even if there were weapons of mass destruction, why does everyone BUT America have to destroy their stockpiles? This is the most illegal, pointless, hypocritical war that has ever been waged. Why doesn't anyone stop it? Because America has the power to squash anyone they want. And this is what they are doing.

"America is losing it's sense of morality"? "CC GUY', America lost it's sense of morality a long time ago. Do you not watch TV, just for openers. You are opposed to abortion and yet you are against " Socialized medicine" or sharing the burden by a fairer system of taxation. All these unwanted children are going to be supported by whom?
The Neo-cons have been lying to the American people since day 1. Their ultimate goal is financial control of all economies. The TV companies are in league with them as they are owned by them. The main purpose of public TV is to "dumb down" the public so they will give up their reasoning powers. Check the TV, sports , get rich quick shows, America Idol and similier crap. However,if some poor person has to hold down 2-3 jobs to make ends meet, they don't have time or they are to tired to try and keep themselves informed. And you really cannot blame them. By the way, over 45,000,000 of them live in fear of requiring medical help as they cannot afford Health Insurance. In the meantime the major companies are closing their plants in the US and Canada and relocating to Mexico or Asia for one reason, to increase the profits for their shareholders. There goes your main tax base. The poor do not pay taxes and the wealthy know how to hide their profits. Thank god for Switzerland and the Caymen Islands.
No , America is not evil. Many in control are, together with people in other countries. The American people are more the victims themselves, than evil. I do believe strongly in Social Democracy.

Democracy is nothing more than a beautiful concept that everyone in the world should be entitled to. However, it has one major flaw: It is the only door to capitalism.

Capitalism, and the human greed it fosters, is the terminal cancer that eventually consumes and destroys true democracy. People eventually become enraged at being raped by the rich and privileged, and rise up and revolt, and dictatorial government is the result.

The prime example of this simple fact is the wanton destruction of personal freedoms; the rape, murder, pillaging and occupation of other nations for their natural resources. This is the United States of America.

The real tragedy of all this is that despots like George W. Bush claim they are doing this to preserve democracy in the U.S. The fact is Americans lost their democracy the day he became president. There is a way to preserve personal freedoms and
democracy; it is called social democracy. Social democracy allows everyone to benefit, not just the wealthy. Social democracy is not communism.
Never give up on your country. For the record "ccguy" I'm Canadian and a very proud Socialist.

we elected him. we knew he would be very aggressive on issues like this and he did what he was hired to do. Is he really distorting the truth or is it the media. A good decision isn't always a popular one. Time must past before we judge a man based on his actions today. American history books may view him as a combat of terrorism. All opinions are biased though. I dont believe in evil.

Anyways, the united states has ben powerful since around the 1800's. Bush is just a war lover, not a powerful dictator. Bush is also not the main leader, you have the other 2 houses of government.

Don't like Bush. But comparisons to Hitler are unreasonable.

Isn't there some law (like Murphy's Law, rather than statute) about political debate and the length of time it takes to compare your opponent to Hitler?

the explanation why human beings learn Bush to Hitler is to magnify to make an result. This exaggeration is justified because on no account will we would like everybody on the brink of being a Hitler as president of the US. working example, in spite of the actual incontrovertible fact that Hitler detained thousands and thousands of German voters devoid of trial, the actual incontrovertible fact that Bush has detained quite a few hundred ; and placed some on trial, is so close as to warrant assessment. those type of movements are antithetical to our values. in spite of the actual incontrovertible fact that Hitler tried to triumph over the western international, and so contributed to the deaths of hundreds of thousands and thousands, Bush attacked in basic terms a unmarried u . s . a . foremost to in basic terms one million deaths. in spite of the actual incontrovertible fact that, that u . s . a . grew to become into no danger to us and reallyI justifies the assessment. further, Hitler did gruesome scientific experiments, and all varieties of torture. Bush, on the different hand, in basic terms admits to specific varieties of what maximum folk evaluate torture. working example, he believes torture as much as the factor of huge organ failure or loss of existence is outwardly permissible.Nor does he out water-boarding. yet back, thinking we are u . s . a . the place torture is expressly unlawful, the thought Bush ought to torture in any respect is sufficient to warrant an exaggerated assessment to Hitler, i think of. as quickly as back, i want to rigidity that the assessment is for result. If we've been to rank leaders on scales of mass homicide, torture, denial of human rights, privateness, freedom of speech and assembly, George Bush might maximum actual be on the backside of the size, because there have been such distinctive that have engaged in this type of habit. working example, maximum dictators does not enable any public criticism. Bush helps public criticism by utilizing eliminating those human beings to specific zones in the back of barbed twine. while the click is often owned by utilizing the state, in this u . s . a . the click is owned by utilizing some firms, who curry want with the politicians by utilizing burying and ignoring information for leisure memories. yet no longer continuously.
