If you have Windows XP check the Control Panel - Network Connections - right click the LAN connection and check properties - advanced tab then check the firewall properties.

One way is to click on START....CONTROL PANEL...SECURITY CENTER.
(THIS IS A MICROSOFT SYSTEM) . This will show you whether the FIREWALL,VIRUS PROTECTION and AUTOMATIC UPDATES are on or off. If they indicate OFF, then you dont have a current one protecting you...EXCEPT..just below those is a WINDOWS FIREWALL that you can click on.. This is from Microsoft. Those above it are from the many free downloads you can get. If you have both firewalls I have been advised to dismantle the microsoft one as it is not good to have more than one firewall. They supposedly confilict with one another... Same goes for having more than one virus protector... You can have more than one spyware.. many free downloads for everything on the internet...

click control panel and then click net work and net work connection u will be knowing what type of firewalls u'r system is supported
